Accessing the Shop

The shop is accessible at any dock in the game. When your ship docks, a shop interface appears showing available items and your current coin balance. You can browse items, make purchases, and sell fish from this interface. Different docks may have slightly different stock or prices for certain items.

Ship Upgrades

These upgrades improve the ship’s durability and capabilities:

• Hull Reinforcement Planks — Increases maximum hull HP. This is one of the most important purchases in the game because every point of hull HP gives you more buffer before sinking. Priority: buy early and upgrade repeatedly as soon as you can afford it.

• Anchoring System — Makes the ship more stable when stationary, reducing drift and making repairs and fishing easier. Useful in solo play and essential for precision docking.

• Storage Expansion — Increases ship inventory capacity, letting you carry more fish, wood, and scrap before needing to sell. Worth buying when you find yourself constantly full and needing to dock just to make room.

• Engine Upgrade — Improves ship speed and acceleration. Not a survival priority but useful for covering distance faster and escaping hazard zones.

Harpoon Upgrades

These upgrades improve the harpoon system:

• Additional Harpoon Capacity — Adds one to your maximum harpoon count. Early game: 2. Each upgrade adds one. Priority: buy early. More harpoons mean you can handle more threats before needing to reload.

• Faster Reload Speed — Reduces the time between firing and being able to fire again. Critical in mine-heavy zones where multiple threats appear in quick succession.

• Aim Assist Module — Adds subtle magnetic targeting toward sea mines and other valid harpoon targets. Makes it easier to hit fast-moving or small targets.

• Harpoon Damage Boost — Increases damage per hit. More relevant for wildlife and obstacle destruction than sea mine detonation.

Fishing Upgrades

These upgrades improve the fishing economy:

• Fishing Rod Tier 1, 2, 3… — Each tier of fishing rod improves catch speed, line tension tolerance, and rare fish attraction chance. Upgrade as soon as you have coins beyond your essential purchases.

• Bait Pack — Consumable that increases fish attraction in your immediate area for a period of time. Useful when you are grinding for a specific rare fish.

• Tackle Box Expansion — Lets you carry more fishing-related consumables.

Repair Materials

These are consumable materials that can also be gathered from the world:

• Wood Bundle — Purchase when you are low on repair materials and cannot take the time to gather wood from the world. More expensive than gathering but faster.

• Scrap Metal Bundle — Same as wood bundle but for scrap. Scrap patches are stronger, so keeping a reserve of scrap is more valuable than wood in most situations.

Personal Equipment

These upgrades improve individual crew member survival:

• Health Potion — Restores personal health. Purchasable in groups or individually.

• Life Vest — Reduces damage taken from falling overboard or environmental hazards. Cheap and useful early game.

• Signal Flare — Can be used to mark locations or signal crew members in co-op. Primarily a co-op item.

What to Buy First: Priority Order

When coins are limited, here is the purchase priority order:

1. Hull Reinforcement Planks — Always first. More hull HP is always valuable.
2. Additional Harpoon Capacity — Second. More harpoons save runs.
3. Fishing Rod Upgrade — Third. Better rods earn coins faster, creating a positive feedback loop.
4. Faster Reload Speed — Fourth. Important for hazard-heavy mid-game zones.
5. Everything else — As coins allow, based on your play style.

Known Shop Limitations

The shop has a rotating stock for some items — certain upgrades are not always available and restock periodically. Make note of what you need and check back at docks you pass. There is no global shop accessible from anywhere — you must physically dock to access purchases.
